Fatal Hit-And-Run

Albuquerque police are looking for a black SUV after a hit-and-run crash at First and Iron that left one person dead and three injured around 2:20 a.m. Monday. “Officers observed evidence that would suggest that this was not an accident and could have possibly been more malicious,” officer Tanner Tixier said in a statement. Lee Galvez, a 39-year-old homeless man, said he was sleeping on Iron in front of the Albuquerque Rescue Mission early Monday when a dark truck drove south down the sidewalk on Second Street and then the driver turned east on Iron and drove into a group of people sleeping on the sidewalk. Galvez said a woman was killed. Video by Pat Vasquez-Cunningham copyright 2014, Albuquerque Journal www.abqjournal.com
